how come everything's crashing when it comes to my, my dreams and how come I already know the future when you talk about my dreams, my dream cause lately I don't know if I've been living or not if this really really means I need you a lot fly me your eyes are so beautiful living or not if I'm real your eyes are so beautiful think it's a lot fly me and how come everything's burning when it comes to my, my dreams and how come I already know the future when you talk about my dreams, my dreams cause lately I don't know if I've been living or not if this really really means I need you a lot fly me your eyes are so beautiful living or not if I'm real your eyes are so beautiful think it's a lot fly me I can be, let me be, I'll let you know, let you go I can be anything you want if you just let me recover cause lately I don't know if I've been living or not if this really really means I need you a lot fly me your eyes are so beautiful living or not if I'm real your eyes are so beautiful think it's a lot fly me cause lately I don't know if I've been living or not if this really really means I need you a lot fly me your eyes are so beautiful living or not if I'm real your eyes are so beautiful think it's a lot fly me

Be Like That 04:10
the only way you know this feeling inside is every time it grows my heart has to hide I drive to the light but it's burning me as I pick up speed I feel it grasping, contorting, controlling, distorting have to be like that no it doesn't mean that I work so well why'd you have to be so small don't you know your selfish, your hungry only for yourself be like that why'd you have to be, to be like that the only way you know this feeling inside is every time it grows my heart has to fight I drive to the light but it's burning me as I pick up speed I feel it grasping, contorting, controlling, distorting have to be like that no it doesn't mean that I work so well why'd you have to be so small don't you know your selfish, your hungry only for yourself be like that why'd you have to be, to be like that am I still here? am I still here? am I still here? am I still here?

If I knew what I knew by now I'd take the cigarette and drown If I knew what I knew by now I'd probably hide away and hit the ground It's about time I take the back door come on what are you here waiting for I know there's better times every little thing you do, every little thing you say why would you have to change at all? I'll lift you up before you fall what I had said I meant it all if you don't move you'll hit the wall it's about time we take the back door to make it all up how could I? to say you and I could be better why would you have to change at all? I'll lift you up before you fall what I had said I meant it all if we don't move you'll hit the wall every little thing you say every little thing you do every little thing you say every little thing you do oh, oh, oh

Push 03:34
last night you called me out again I was waiting by the bridge of where you start and where I end when you start to get that feeling of release when you start to feel your heart beat as you sink push me out and push me in push me out and push me in push me out and push me in push me out and push me in at the crossroads you called me out again I was waiting by the tracks of where the devil and the angel ran the race as friends when you start to get that feeling of release when you start to feel the ideal melt as you believe push me out and push me in, crashing into solid wake push me out and push me in, crashing into solid wake push me out and push me in, crashing into solid wake push me out and push me in, crashing into solid change it's never a line, it's not a line it's never a line, it's never straight forward, its not a line but what I express it's all I can be what I breathe is all I can do for you what I think is all I can do for you - bad habits all I thought is all I can do for you

about

Also available on Vain Mina

''The album is a reflection of where I’ve been mentally, navigating the concept of having a broader perspective, says Annika... being a person of mixed race has taught me to see from opposing perspectives, which has brought about some inner turmoil, but has also helped me learn that having these deeper conversations across racial lines is where we can achieve real change. Having these conversations doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your own culture but how can we lift up those who are oppressed to live their truth freely?

The title Bleu was inspired by Kieslowski’s film Three Colors: Blue in which Julie, a strong female composer, processes her grief after the death of her husband.

I felt like Bleu captured my state of moving beyond the lens of putting others' acceptance first, says Zee, of growing out of codependency and toxic feminine societal programming. It is about independence, freedom, and empowerment ... the liberty of oneself and others. A spiritual map for those who know how to read it correctly.

Annika Zee is a multimedia artist born and raised in Toronto who later studied at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music in New York. Her production style draws from a discerning palette of sound that melds the possibilities of real and digital instruments, incorporating elements of noise, experiments in sound design, and classic songwriting.
